Dance Recital

IMG_2579

The girls had their dance recital on Saturday.  It was lovely.  Grandma and Aunt Janet were able to come and watch, too.

I took some pictures ahead of time.  They will have photographs taken at the studio next Thursday.

They were in one dance together.  It was called “Rotten To The Core.”  They had fun with it, and I’ve had fun teasing them about the title.

Ja’Ana was in one dance with a bunch of her friends.  It was called “Dear Mr. President.”  J has been out of dance for a few years, and of course, Patsy has had very limited experience with it, so I’m super glad they had this opportunity for the past year.  We like this studio, and  will be sad that we are not able to continue next year, but we will live too far away.

Even though our lives are a bit complicated right now, we were able to fully enjoy their recital, and I think they did, too.

    1. Thank you. I was pleased with what I can do with my phone:) Some day, I’d like to learn to use a “real” camera correctly, but for now, this works. For me, I could tell, it was important to them that I was taking a lot of pictures and making a fuss over them so that their big day they’ve worked for all year wouldn’t get lost in the move. We are spending quite a bit of emotional energy lately in a lot of directions!!!

      1. I know just what you mean about emotional energy. Been there, done that. 🙂 It’s worth it. Praying for your peace and energy over the next few days and weeks!

  1. aw great pictures of beautiful girls! Lots of personality and attitude. 😀 Glad you were able to enjoy their special day.

    1. Thanks! I am so glad we pulled it off, too. There was a point where I was wondering (everyone a little stressed)……but it all turned out good.

  2. Your girls are just lovely. I am so glad they got to finish dance this year. These are memories they will always have. 🙂 It is fun to have sisters. Moving is hard I pray the rest of it goes smoothly. You are clearly a proverbs 31 women and are passing that example on to your daughters. We have moved a lot in the last few years. Not because we wanted to 🙁 but because we had too. It is amazing how attached we get to our homes. You state it very well in the blog tittle. Our homes are our havens. I pray for peace that passes all understanding for everyone in the house. God I pray that you Give Rob and Becky wisdom for this new season of there life. I pray protection over their household no weapon formed against them will prosper. They are chiildren of the King. seated with Christ in heavenly places. Lord I thank you for opening doors for them and prospering them. Thank
you for a wonderful new home in Jesus name.
Becky I admire how steadfast you are. I can not wait to see what God has for you. 🙂
    Blessings and a big hug.

    1. Thank you so much. I need all the prayers I can get during this time. I am also very happy that we got to finish up and didn’t have to make them quit in the middle of learning their dance.

  3. Hi Becky,
Your girls are lovely. 🙂 I am glad they got to finish dance this year. Moving is hard we had to move a lot over the last few years. It left us feeling a little uneasy. I know this too shall pass. God has a new season for you. He is a good father and gives good gifts to his chilidren. I pray for peace and prosperity and open doors. You are a mighty woman of God and it shows in your resolve and kindness. With God all things are possible. Praying for you and your family.
Big blessings and a Big Hug.

    1. I’ll bet my comments were not letting you comment for some reason the first time, but then posted it, but I am grateful for the kind words, times 2:) I am looking forward to seeing what God has for us next and praying that He gives us the strength we need to accomplish it.

  4. Your girls are beautiful and look so happy. Wish I was as limber as them. lol. Oh, to be a kid again. I loved the pictures and costumes. Also loved the pic of a nutria. Haven’t seen one since I was a kid growing up in Albany OR. Where my family still lives.
Take care and have an awesome week. New adventures are coming for your family!

    1. I was never very limber, even as a child, so they amaze me, too.

It was fun to see the nutria. There were several–2 adults and 3 young ones that we saw. We were pretty close to the young ones, which I thought was amazing.

  5. Lovely dancers. I’m a dance mom too. Never thought I would be putting liquid eyeliner on my girl! Have your girls read “Taking Flight” by Michaela de Prince? You might know of her, but if not, she was an orphan in war torn Sierra Leone, experienced some horrors there, and ended up being adopted and becoming one of the most successful dancers of color. She also has vitiligo. The book is for about 4th grade and up but there is some content of what she experienced in Africa that could be disturbing to a sensitive child. My daughter was OK with it in 4th gr.

    1. I’ve never read that book, but it sounds good. I have to admit, I cannot put the eyeliner on. I flubbed it up, and gave Patsy the eyeliner, she let an older girl put it on her, and promptly lost it, so it’s all good. I never have to do it again:) We don’t have any more:) 🙂

  6. The girls look gorgeous. So glad for them to have this experience and family there to enjoy it. To bad you cannot continue at the same dance studio but there will be many times in their lives that things will have to change. Whew. So much going on. Depending on what happens next you may get a little bit of slower time soon.

    1. I had to crack up today when my oldest daughter, Abbie, and I were talking. Come on, who has a dance recital, an adoption finalization and signs papers to sell their house, and moves out from one Saturday to the next? It’s starting to border on the ridiculous:)
